Early advantage slips away for Men's Tennis vs UNOH

LIMA, Ohio – Grace's men's tennis team claimed an early lead over Northwestern Ohio in their 2013 season opener. But the Lancers could not maintain their advantage, losing 6-3 to UNOH.

The Racers, who finished last season as the No. 15-ranked team in the NAIA, dropped two of the three doubles points to Grace.

Daniel Sanchez and Aaron Blevins teamed up for an impressive 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles, and Jack Wang and Ethan Grove battled to an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles.

But Grace only mustered one point in singles' play when Sanchez won 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 1 singles.

Jose Marval dropped a three-set thriller at No. 2 singles, and freshman Jacob Stump lost 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.

The Lancers will look to rebound for next week's crucial opening to the Crossroads League season. Grace will host rival Spring Arbor on Tuesday at 3 p.m. before traveling to Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday.
