WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's men's tennis team earned a 9-0 blanking of Bethel on Tuesday at Miller Athletic Complex.
The Lancers won four of the six singles' matches in straight sets, and the Lancers won all three doubles' points in contested fashion.
The tightest match of the day was at No. 1 doubles. Danila Kurkulin and Caleb Yoder clawed out a 9-8 win at the top position.Â
Uros Pajic and Gabe Vervynckt won 8-6 at No. 2 doubles, and Adam Yoder and Arturo Fonseca finished the doubles' sweep with an 8-4 victory at No. 3.
Kurkulin claimed a three-set win at No. 1 singles to stay unbeaten in conference, and Connor Bates also had a three setter at No. 6.
Pajic, Vervynckt, Adam Yoder and Arturo Fonseca rounded out Grace's perfect day by winning in straight sets at No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 singles respectively.
"This was a good win for us tonight. Danila remained undefeated in conference, and Connor got his second win In a row in conference," said Grace head coach Larry Schuh. "Adam fought hard and got a win. And our one and two doubles' improved to 6-1."
The Lancers close out the league season at Huntington on Thursday. Grace's regular season will end on Saturday against Saint Joseph's at Miller Athletic Complex.
