MARION, Ind. - Grace's men's tennis team was topped 7-2 by Indiana Wesleyan on Thursday.
The match was originally scheduled to be played at Grace, but rain moved to the match to Marion.
Danila Kurkulin won both of his matches on Thursday, accounting for Grace's only points. He beat his opponent at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-1. Kurkulin also teamed up with Caleb Yoder at No. 1 doubles for an 8-5 win.
The other two doubles' positions were close wins for the Wildcats (2-2, 2-2 Crossroads League). Uros Pajic and Gabe Vervynckt were beaten 8-6 at No. 2 doubles, and Adam Yoder and Arturo Fonseca lost 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.
Vervynckt was strongest in defeat during singles' play, dropping a 1-6, 6-3, 10-4 scoreline at No. 3. Pajic was defeated 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
The Lancers (1-2, 1-1 CL) will head to St. Francis on Saturday for a 3 p.m. match.
