HOLLAND, Mich. - Grace's men's tennis team opened up the spring season with a rout over Hope College. The Lancers beat Hope 8-1 in Michigan.
Pavle Popovic and
Milan Savic won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles, and
Max Rozas and
Fabricio Galvan won 8-2 at No. 2.
Ramiro Candia and
Jacob Gray completed the Lancers' sweep in doubles with an 8-3 win at No. 3.
Mauricio Corty and
Francisco Margaria won in exhibition doubles' play, marking the first collegiate appearance for Margaria.
In singles' play, four of Grace's wins were in straight sets. Corty was the exception, battling to a 6-1, 3-6, 10-3 victory at No. 5 singles.
Rozas won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Galvan won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3, Candia won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4, and Savic won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 6.
*The spring season consists of countable contests for the first time for Grace. This means overall team records and individual W/L records will be influenced by spring competition.
