MARION, Ind. - Grace's men's tennis team split a doubleheader to close out the Crossroads League regular season on Wednesday.

The Lancers (7-1, 7-1 CL) will finish second place in the league standings, one game behind Indiana Wesleyan.

The first match of the day was the de facto league championship between the final two undefeated teams. Indiana Wesleyan got the better of Grace, but the match was fiercely contested.

The Wildcats (8-0, 8-0 CL) won all three doubles' courts, including a pair of narrow 6-4 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

In singles, Fabricio Galvan earned Grace's only point with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 3. David Sandi narrowly fell at No. 4 singles (3-6, 6-3, 12-14).

The Lancers rebounded nicely with a 5-2 victory against Huntington to end the day. 

Galvan and Ivan Antori won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, and Mauricio Corty and Jacob Gray won by the same margin at No. 3.

Max Rozas (No. 1), Ramiro Candia (No. 2), Galvan (No. 3), Sandi (No. 4) and Kye Barrett (No. 6) all won in straight sets during singles' competition.

The Lancers' fall season continues with three more nonleague matches, including Judson at home on Friday, IU Southeast on the road on Saturday and Trine at home on Monday.

The Crossroads League Tournament begins on Tuesday.
