BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Grace's men's tennis team could not produce the upset of No. 6 Union (Ky.) on Thursday.
The No. 21 Lancers fell 5-2 at Union, marking Grace's fourth NAIA Top-25 showdown of the spring already.
Union grabbed an early advantage by winning the doubles' point. Facundo Paredes and Ivan Antinori won a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles, but that was the only win in doubles for the Lancers.
Paredes continued his strong day with another win at No. 2 singles (6-4, 6-3). Fabricio Galvan also secured a 5-7, 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles.
But the Bulldogs won the other four singles' courts. David Sandi won the opening set at No. 1 singles before succumbing in the match.
The Lancers have another ranked battle tomorrow when Grace will play at Cumberlands, who is receiving votes in the NAIA.
