WARSAW, Ind. - Grace's men's tennis team continued its challenging spring schedule with a match against Ferris State on Saturday.
The home match was played indoors at Warsaw Racquet Club.
The Lancers were unable to knock off the Bulldogs, who are ranked No. 26 in the latest ITA/NCAA Div. II rankings. Grace fell 5-2 on Saturday.
The Bulldogs gained an early edge by winning the doubles' point; Ferris State won at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.Â
Javier Gallego and Pablo Gregori earned the lone doubles' win for Grace, coming up with a 6-4 victory at No. 2.
During singles' competition, Ferris State clinched the match through a series of fiercely contested battles. The Bulldogs won three-set matches at No. 1, 3 and 4 singles.
The Lancers did find victory at No. 2 singles with Facundo Paredes (6-4, 6-4) and No. 6 singles with Artur Pons (6-3, 7-5).
The Lancers (19-5) will take on Indiana Tech (receiving votes in the NAIA) on March 24.
