WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's men's tennis team picked up its second win over Indiana Tech this season, winning 6-1 on Saturday.
The No. 20 Lancers (21-5) won convincingly over the Warriors, who are receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
Grace picked up the early advantage by taking the doubles' point.
Artur Pons and Javier Gallego blanked their opponent 6-0 at No. 3 doubles. Facundo Paredes and Ivan Antinori cruised 6-3 at No. 1, and Ramiro Candia and Nicolas Doria produced a dramatic 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles as well.
In singles' play, Grace won five of the six matches, which included several hotly contested matches.
Candia was victorious 6-2, 7-5 at No. 3 singles, and Gallego also won in straight sets (7-5, 6-4) at No. 1 singles.
Paredes, Pons and Margaria all battled to three-set wins.
Paredes pulled out a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles. Francisco Margaria earned a 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 win at No. 6, and Pons completed a 6-0, 2-6, 7-6 (5) win at No. 5.
The Lancers have two matches scheduled next week. Grace will host No. 25 Oakland City on Friday and Cornerstone (receiving votes) on Saturday.
