Lancers advance to NAIA Second Round

Box Score

MOBILE, Ala. - Grace's men's tennis team began national tournament play with a convincing win on Tuesday.

The No. 14 seeded Lancers dispatched No. 19 Oakland City 4-1 in the opening round of the 2025 NAIA National Championships.

The Lancers advance to the NAIA Second Round where Grace will square off with No. 3 Keiser on Wednesday at 1 p.m. (Central Time).

Grace has now made the NAIA's second round for the third time since 2021, including back-to-back years. Grace will get a chance at revenge against Keiser after falling last year to the Seahawks.

The Lancers opened the match by quickly grabbing the doubles' point. Benjamin Rahine and Luis Cordoba began the day with a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Pablo Gregori and Salva Pons won 6-3 at No. 1 doubles to secure the opening point.

The Mighty Oaks evened the match with a win at No. 6 singles, but that proved to be the only point OCU would have.

Artur Pons earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 3 singles. Gregori produced a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win at the top singles' court, and Cordoba finished off the match with a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles.

Grace (19-3) has won six straight matches and is appearing in its fourth NAIA tournament in the past five years.
