WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Andy Lewis has decided to retire as the men's tennis head coach for Grace College.
Lewis is arguably the most successful tennis coach in school history, garnering three regular season championships in the Crossroads League as well as three CL Tournament titles.
Over his eight years, Lewis amassed a record of 129-47, including a record of 48-10 in conference matches. He will end his career with a 39-match winning streak against Crossroads League opponents.
"I appreciate all that Coach Lewis has done for the men's tennis program at Grace College. We will greatly miss him but are excited for the new chapter in his life," said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. "I am thankful for Andy's many years of service to our program and to our college, and we celebrate the work that God has done through him."
Lewis led Grace to its first two national championships in program history, winning back-to-back NCCAA titles in 2021 and 2022. He was a two-time NCCAA National Coach of the Year and a two-time conference Coach of the Year.
Under Lewis's coaching, the Lancers collected seven NAIA All-American honors and five NCCAA All-American awards.
"It has been a pleasure and an honor to coach the men's tennis team at Grace for the past eight years. I'm truly thankful for the opportunity," Lewis said. "I will miss the relationships and the camaraderie with the athletes and the coaches at Grace, and I wish nothing but the best for the program going forward."
