ALLENDALE, Mich - Grace's men's tennis team closed out the fall campaign, falling 5-2 against Grand Valley State, another NCAA Div. II opponent, on Saturday afternoon.
The Lakers collected the doubles point 2-1. The duo of
Alexander Andersen and
Manuel Marques made things interesting by winning No. 3 doubles 6-4.
Both of Grace's points came from the singles courts.
Mahefa Rakotomalala dropped the first set before taking the next two to secure his point. He went 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
Aurelien Coan added the second point for the Lancers from the No. 6 slot in the lineup. He trailed early 6-4, before coming from behind to win the next two sets 6-2, 6-1.
Marques nearly joined Rakotomalala and Coan in come-from-behind fashion, but fell short 3-6, 6-3, 1-6.
Grace will continue the 2026-27 season in February with a turn-up against the University of Indianapolis on Feb. 11.
