WINONA LAKE, Ind. - A fiercely contested match went against Grace's women's tennis team on Saturday as the Lancers fell 4-3 to No. 24 Bethel.
Grace gave the ranked Pilots everything they could handle at the Don Cramer Tennis Courts.
The doubles' point could have swung to either team. Molli Runestad and Lauren Harris won 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
The top doubles' court was won 7-6 by Bethel, and the Pilots also won narrowly 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
The singles' courts were also tight battles with two of the matchups going to a third set.
Lauren Harris owned the most convincing singles' win of the day with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
Jimena Ramirez was also convincing with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles. Landry Schrock had Grace's final point with a 6-1, 6-7, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.
The Lancers wrap up the league season next week, playing at Goshen on Wednesday and at Spring Arbor on Saturday.
