WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Grace College athletic department is excited to announce the creation of the Grace Run Club.
The club will begin in 2027-28 under the leadership of Grace's cross country coaching staff. Some scholarships will be available for joining the club as well.
"Brian Dewey and his assistants have done an outstanding job guiding our distance program at Grace, and we're excited to see that influence extend through the launch of our new running club," said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. "This program will create an opportunity for students of all ability levels to grow in their faith and in their athletic careers. We look forward to seeing how the Lord will use this club to challenge and grow a new group of students."
The Grace Run Club is seeking all athletes, regardless of experience, who want to grow in their running career. Students will gain a social network of like-minded individuals as well as competitive experiences throughout their collegiate career.
The Run Club will be able to take advantage of Grace's cross country course as well as the numerous running courses woven into the towns of Winona Lake and Warsaw.
Members of the club may have the opportunity to pursue competition during the year, including road courses and at the collegiate level.
"Our coaching staff is looking forward to developing runners in the direction they want to go. Some may want to pursue general fitness, others may continue on from their high school careers by competing in various cross country and track events, while others may choose to pursue half and even full marathons," Dewey said. "Our desire is to help each athlete pursue the direction they desire."
