Bio

Adam Basinger is set for his fourth year as Grace's Director of Athletic Operations for the 2025-26 school year after being hired in the spring of 2022.

Basinger is a familiar face at Grace, having graduated as a Lancer in 2011 and assisting Grace in recent years with various facility projects. He played soccer for the Lancers during his undergraduate career, served as a student worker in the sports information department and also worked as a groundskeeper on Grace’s athletic fields.

In his role, Basinger assists the Lancers’ administration in a variety of ways. He is the primary groundskeeper for all of Grace’s outdoor facilities at the Miller Athletic Complex, which has seen incredible improvement during his time at Grace. He also serves alongside Grace’s Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe and Assistant AD/SID Josh Neuhart, fulfilling roles in game management, administration and sports information. He helped Grace nab the 2023-24 Crossroads League SID of the Year award.

“I am truly honored to return to my alma mater and play a small part in the culture and community that makes Grace so special,” Basinger said. “This is a unique position that allows for many avenues to impact the student-athletes, support the coaches, enhance the campus facilities and engage in the community. I am excited to serve and hope to continue raising the bar in the years to come.”

Basinger comes to Grace from Indianapolis where he worked as the Field Operations Manager for the Indianapolis Indians, the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He served for seven years with the Indians’ award-winning field operations crew.

The Indians play their home games at Victory Field, a 13,750-seat ballpark located in downtown Indianapolis. The ballpark has received numerous national awards as one of the best minor league ballparks in the United States.

He has a wealth of grounds experience. Prior to working with the Indians, Basinger served for three years at the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers. Before that, he worked for the Fort Wayne TinCaps at their nationally recognized Parkview Field.

“We are very excited for Adam to join our staff in this new role that touches so many important parts of our department,” Briscoe said. “His background in grounds and professional baseball will continue to move our athletic programs forward and immediately impact all of our athletic fields. As a Grace alum, Adam has a deep understanding of our culture and consistently demonstrates servant leadership in his work. We look forward to his impact on our athletic department in his new role.”

Basinger graduated from Grace in 2011 with a degree in sport management; he was chosen as the Sport Management Student of the Year as a senior.
