Lady Lancers bow out of league tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Grace's women's tennis team was eliminated from the Crossroads League Tournament by virtue of a 9-0 win by Marian on Tuesday.

The Lady Lancers (2-8) fell in the quarterfinal round against the red-hot second-seeded Knights (10-1).

The Knights grabbed an early advantage by winning all three doubles matches by the score of 8-1 over Kristin Cassidy and Taryn Wuensch at No. 1 doubles, Nicole Beguin and Janelle Hess at No. 2 doubles and Esther Smith and Sarah Hinkel at No. 3 doubles.

Cassidy was the most competitive in singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 loss at No. 1 singles. Beguin at No. 3 singles won three games in defeat, and Hess (No. 4), Hinkel (No. 5) and Smith (No. 6) each won two games against Marian.
