Lady Lancers falter to No. 6 Spring Arbor

Box Score

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Grace women's soccer team struggled to recover from its emotional win on Saturday and fell to No. 6 Spring Arbor 4-0 on Tuesday.

The Lady Lancers (10-3-1; 3-2 Crossroads League) gave up three goals in a 13-minute span during the first half and never fully recovered.

Grace was attempting to refocus after a memorable 3-2 win against then-No. 25 Indiana Wesleyan two days ago, which Mallory Rondeau won with five seconds remaining, but Spring Arbor continued their undefeated league record by topping Grace.

The sixth-ranked Cougars (12-1-1; 5-0 CL) notched three goals between the 14th and 27th minutes, all courtesy of Karly Linton.

Spring Arbor held Rondeau, the reigning NAIA Offensive Player of the Week, without a shot attempt in the match to limit Grace's offense.

Grace's defense improved in the second half to limit Spring Arbor to a single goal, but Grace was held without a goal for only the third time this season.

Spring Arbor recorded 21 shots in the victory. There were also 29 fouls in the match, 17 of which were called on the Cougars.

The Lady Lancers will play their final road league match of the season on Saturday against Saint Francis at 4:30 p.m.
