COLUMBIA, Mo. – Grace wrapped up its second weekend of national competition by taking a pair of wins over Bethel (Tenn.) and Park (Mo.) in the Quality Inn Classic.

The Lady Lancers (5-3) defeated Bethel in five sets before taking down Park, who is receiving votes in the Top 25 poll.

“I'm really proud of the girls for persevering through two tough weekends of competition as they started school. We were kind of flat all weekend as we were in our system but not connecting. Yet we were still in every set,” said Grace head coach Andria Harshman. “We stayed focused, pressed on and took three big teams this weekend. I couldn't be more proud of them.”

Grace found themselves in a battle with Bethel in their first match of the day. The Wildcats (0-3) won the first set by three points thanks to a .213 hitting percentage.

The Lady Lancers forced a fifth set, however, by winning two of the next three sets, including a 26-24 win in the second set and a 25-20 win in the fourth.

Grace displayed a dominant effort in the decisive fifth set, tallying 12 kills with only one error to clinch a 15-7 victory.

Alicia Gosney turned in one of the best performances of her young career with a career-high 18 kills in the win. Dana Johnston tallied 15 kills on a .270 percentage.

Alicia Gosney and Dana Johnston were key players for us throughout the weekend,” Harshman continued. “They really connected well as we ended the tournament.”

Bethany Whitcraft led all players with 34 digs, and Christina LeBlanc handed out a match-best 48 assists. LeBlanc also tallied 19 digs, Hannah Clemmons added 16 digs and Calah Kruse chipped in with 15.

In their second set, the Lady Lancers again fell behind 1-0 as Park took the opening set, 25-22. But the LeBlanc-led offense proved too lethal for the Pirates (7-3) to deal with as Grace won the final three sets.

Grace won the second and fourth sets by the score of 25-18 and took the third set in extra points, 28-26.

LeBlanc dished out a career-high 52 assists in the four-set victory. She helped four Lady Lancers reach double-digit kills, led by 17 apiece from Johnston (.467 percentage) and Gosney (.239).

Kruse recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 16 digs, and Arielle Walters added 11 kills on a .429 percentage.

Three Lady Lancers were named to the All-Tournament Team, including Arielle Walters, Dana Johnston and Alicia Gosney. Grace's three members were tied for the most in the tournament.

The Lady Lancers will start their Crossroads League schedule when they return to Indiana, starting with a match at No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
