Grace overwhelmed Rochester in its opener, claiming a 25-16, 25-9, 25-13 win. Rochester was held to a negative team hitting percentage of -.013 as the Lady Lancers' defense surrendered just 15 kills in three sets.

Grace's second match started slowly as they dropped into a 0-2 hole to Aquinas. The Saints' blocking effort, which resulted in 14 block points, stifled Grace's offense for much of the match as they won 25-21 and 25-17.
The Lady Lancers rallied, however, and forced a tiebreaker. On the offensive strength of Johnston and Kruse, Grace won 25-20 and 25-21 in the third and fourth sets. Despite only recording four kills in the fifth set, Aquinas's effort was enough to claim a 15-7 victory. Grace had more errors (8) than kills (3) in the set.
Kruse amassed a double-double of 14 kills and a game-high 30 digs, and Hannah Clemmons added 27 digs. Johnston's 17 kills led all players, and Kerrigan had 26 digs.
Grace's offense was sluggish in its third match of the day as Cornerstone won in three sets. The Lady Lancers mustered 23 kills on a .047 percentage. The team's strongest effort was in the first game as Grace produced 13 kills in a 25-22 defeat. Cornerstone went on to sweep the match 25-12 and 25-12.
Setter Ellie Harp was Grace's most effective hitter with five kills on 10 attempts. Kruse also added seven kills and 15 digs.
The Lady Lancers conclude the tournament on Saturday with a 10 a.m. match against Clarke.
