GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – To wrap up the Cornerstone Tournament, Grace's volleyball team fell in three sets to Clarke on Saturday morning.
Ten kills from Dana Johnston, and seven kills from Calah Kruse were not enough to lift the Lady Lancers (18-15) against Clarke (27-6).
Grace's attack was held to a .073 percentage, while Clarke pounded out 39 kills on a .275 percentage.
After a nine-point loss in the first set, Grace had its best effort in the second game. Twelve team kills fell short, however, as Clarke won 25-20, going on to clinch the match 25-13 in the third set.
Kaitlin Kerrigan registered 10 digs to lead Grace's defense, and Ellie Harp tallied three block assists.
At the end of the tournament, Dana Johnston was named First Team All-Tournament, and Ellie Harp was named Second Team.
Grace has one match remaining in the regular season. The Lady Lancers travel to Goshen on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. to wrap up the Crossroads League season. With a win, Grace will move into a tie for fifth place in the league standings.
