LAKE WALES, Fla. – Grace's men's basketball team suffered its worst offensive game of the season on Monday, struggling to a 68-50 defeat at Warner (Fla.).

The Royals (10-1) held the Lancers (10-3) to just 31 percent shooting for the game, including 7-of-23 from the 3-point line. Niko Read was the sole Lancer to reach double digits in scoring with 15 points coming off four 3-pointers.

The Lancers trailed for much of the opening period and found themselves behind 40-27 at the break. Grace had nearly as many turnovers (7) as made field goals (8) in the first half.

While Grace had its struggles on offense with a 35-percent shooting performance, the Royals had little trouble on their offensive end. Warner connected on 17-of-32 from the floor (53 percent) and had just two turnovers over the first 20 minutes.

Grace came out firing in the second half, using a 9-2 run to close Warner's cushion to 42-36 on a basket from Caleb Featherston. But Grace's offense hit a five-minute drought after Featherston's basket. The Lancers went 5:48 between made field goals, and the Royals built their lead back up to double figures with an 8-0 run.

Warner never trailed by fewer than 11 points for the rest of the contest. The Royals led by as many as 21 down the stretch as Grace substituted liberally over the final three minutes.

Read made 4-of-11 from beyond the arc for his team-best 15 points, and Logan Irwin added nine points and four assists. Erik Bowen and Dennis Williams scored six points apiece off the bench, and Adrian Makolli finished with four points and four rebounds. Warner's Eddie Delegal led all scorers with 18 points.

The Lancers' final game of their Florida road trip is Wednesday at Webber International.
