WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team ran its winning streak up to four in a row to conclude the regular season, sweeping Concordia (Mich.) on Saturday.
The Lady Lancers (6-5) made short work of Concordia at Miller Field in a final tuneup before the Crossroads League Tournament next week.
Kristin Cassidy assumed the No. 1 position, winning at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-0 and No. 1 doubles with
Sarah Hinkel 8-0. Hinkel went on to take a straight-sets victory at No. 2 singles.
Jayna Huber at No. 3 singles and
Gabrielle Lawrence at No. 5 singles blanked their opponent in singles' play, and
Mariah Zumbrun nearly did the same with a 6-0, 6-1 scoreline at No. 4 singles. Lawrence and Zumbrun teamed up for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles.
Freshman
Caroline Cassidy was a part of two forfeit victories, including No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles with
Katie Etter.
The Lady Lancers will travel to Taylor on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the Crossroads League Tournament.
