Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Volleyball tripped up by No. 7 Lindsey Wilson, Campbellsville

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Grace's run in the Lindsey Wilson Tournament ended with a pair of losses on Saturday.

The Lady Lancers (5-3) could not find a rhythm offensively on the day, falling in four sets to Campbellsville and three sets to No. 7 Lindsey Wilson.

In the opening match, Grace's offense struggled to get on track. The Lady Lancers mustered just six kills in the first set and five kills in the second to fall behind 0-2 in the match.

Grace rebounded in the third game to win 25-20, but the Tigers ended any thoughts of a Grace comeback by clinching the match 25-16 in the fourth set.

The Tigers (3-3) had 14 more kills than the Lady Lancers and also aced Grace 11 times. Sierra Smith finished with six kills and three block assists for Grace, and Laken Chaney posted a double-double with 23 assists and 12 digs.

Kelsee Zuidema had six kills on 11 attempts, Tori Bontrager chipped in six kills and two block assists, and Sara Miller added 13 digs.

Lindsey Wilson ended Grace's tournament on a sour note, sweeping the Lady Lancers in the final match. The Blue Raiders (7-1) used a dominant blocking front to stifle Grace. Lindsey Wilson's 12 block points resulted in Grace attacking at a .042 percentage.

Marta Bleed led Grace's attack with eight kills on a .545 percentage, adding two block assists. Bontrager tallied six kills and two service aces, and Chaney notched 23 assists and seven digs.

The Lady Lancers return to action on Wednesday in the Crossroads League opener. Grace travels to Mt. Vernon Nazarene with first serve slated for 7 p.m.
