WINONA LAKE, Ind. – Grace's men's tennis team dropped its second straight decision, losing 9-0 to Marian on Tuesday.
The Lancers (4-2, 4-2 Crossroads League) fell to the league-leading Knights (6-1, 6-0 CL) and dropped their first home match of the season.
Uros Pajic and Gabe Vervynckt fell in a valiant battle at No. 2 doubles, eventually falling 9-8 in a nailbiter. Marian won all three doubles' matches to take a commanding lead into singles' play.
Danila Kurkulin had the best showing in singles, taking his opponent at the top position to three sets.
Ricardo Bedon took his second set to 4-6 at No. 4 singles, and Uros Pajic (No. 3) and Ethan Grove (No. 4) both lost 3-6 in the second set of their respective matches. Adam Yoder fell 4-6, 2-6 at No. 6 singles.
The Lancers will play on Saturday at league foe Bethel.
