INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Grace's women's tennis team could not keep pace with Marian on Tuesday, losing 7-2 on the road.

The Knights (5-1, 5-1 Crossroads League) took two of the three doubles' points for an early lead. Katie Etter and Jenna Jackson earned Grace's point at No. 3 doubles, winning 8-6.

Gabrielle Lawrence was the sole winner for the Lady Lancers (1-5, 1-5 CL) in singles' play. She claimed a 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-4 win at No. 5 singles.

Jackson battled tough at No. 3 singles, falling 6-3, 6-3. Natalia Kurkova dropped a 6-1, 7-5 decision at No. 1 singles, Molly Fitzpatrick lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2, and Jayna Huber and Mariah Zumbrun also lost in straight sets in singles play.

"Marian is a great team and Cassie does a terrific job. The girls are continuing to make strides each week, and I have no doubts that we will finish this season strong," said Grace head coach Scott Moore. "We are going to stay the course and focus and getting better each day and the results will come. It starts Wednesday against a good Indiana Tech team." 

The Lady Lancers will look to rebound on Wednesday with a home match against Indiana Tech at 3:30 p.m.
