HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Grace's men's tennis team wrapped up the Crossroads League regular season with a 7-2 loss at Huntington on Thursday.
Danila Kurkulin and Caleb Yoder won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles to get the Lancers started on the right foot, but things unraveled soon after.
The only other win for Grace was secured by Gabe Vervynckt at No. 3 singles by a 6-4, 7-6 scoreline.
Another notable aspect from Thursday's match was a 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 loss by Kurkulin at No. 1 singles. It was his first league loss of the year.
"This was a difficult loss for our team because our guys know we just didn't bring it today," said Grace head coach Larry Schuh. "They all gave 100-percent effort, but we struggled with our mental toughness in several matches."
The Lancers end the regular season on Saturday with a men's/women's dual match against Saint Joseph's.
