INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Grace's men's tennis team finished its fall season Tuesday with a 5-4 loss at Marian.
The Lancers (4-6) were unable to beat Marian for the second time this year. Grace lost to the No. 2 seed Knights Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Crossroads League Tournament.Â
Grace jumped out to an early lead after doubles as the Lancers won two of the three doubles' points.
Danila Kurkulin and Caleb Yoder won 9-8 at No. 1 doubles, and Adam Yoder and Conner Bates claimed an 8-6 win at No. 3.
Lucas Fonseca claimed a quick 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles, and Uros Pajic recovered from a first-set loss to win 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.Â
But the Knights (9-2) rebounded to win the rest of the singles' courts to advance to the semifinals. Kurkulin was handed his first loss of the year at No. 1 singles, and Adam Yoder narrowly lost 4-6, 6-4, 3-6 at No. 5.
