Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. - Grace's softball team suffered two losses on Monday during their Spring Break trip.
The Lady Lancers lost in walk-off fashion in the opening game of the day 4-3 to Cardinal Stritch before losing 9-4 to Trinity International in the second game.
Grace fell behind 3-0 to Cardinal Stritch after two innings but managed to claw back into the game.
The Lady Lancers' rally started with two outs in the fourth inning. Morgan Tapscott launched a solo home run over the left field fence to get Grace on the scoreboard.
A double by Jessica Kaurich, a walk from Britney Young and a shallow single from Andrea Castillo quickly loaded the bases, all with two outs. Natalie Klingberg then pinch hit and singled to score two runs and tie the game 3-3.
The game remained tied until the final frame. The Wolves, playing as the host team, scored the winning run off a single in the bottom of the seventh for the final 4-3 score.
Sam Heim was 2-for-4 with a triple, and Young was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
In the second game, Grace was unable to slow down the Trojans offensively. The Lady Lancers only trailed 4-3 after four innings, but TIU scored five runs over the final three innings to pull away.
Heim was 2-for-4 with a triple again, and Tapscott, Young and Kaitlyn Heffner each drove in a run.
The Lady Lancers have two more games on Tuesday in Florida, taking on Calumet St. Joseph and Carlow in the afternoon.
