Box Score 3 DEERFIELD, Ill. – Grace's volleyball team could not pick up a win over the weekend at the Trinity International Tournament.
The Lady Lancers lost a pair of five-set matches on Friday in a weekend of growth for the young Lady Lancers.
Alexa Hill and Makaela Lochmueller picked up All-Tournament recognition for their performances at the tourney.
Grace fell behind early in each of its matches on Friday. In the opener against Trinity International, the Lady Lancers dropped the opening two sets 25-22 and 25-21.
Grace showed resolve to force a fifth set, however, but narrowly lost in extra points 18-16.
Friday's second match was similar. Judson jumped out to a 2-1 advantage, but Grace battled back with a dramatic 29-27 win in the fourth set to produce a tiebreaker.
Judson pulled out a 15-10 win in the fifth set, however, to clinch the match.
Clarke ended Grace's tournament with a defeat on Saturday; the Pride won in four sets (25-17, 25-21, 18-25, 25-23), although Grace nearly forced yet another fifth set in the loss.
The Lady Lancers will shift their attention to Crossroads League play next week. Grace's first league game of the season is Tuesday at Mt. Vernon Nazarene.
