FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team stretched its record start to 7-0 with a sweep of St. Francis on Tuesday.
The Lady Lancers (7-0, 6-0 Crossroads League) are off to their best start in team history. Grace's seventh straight win is approaching the record for longest winning streak as well (nine straight, 2008 and 2009).
Emily Mast and Dayana Ortega beat their opponents at No. 1 doubles 6-1, and Carrie Copeland and Jayna Armstrong won 6-2 at No. 2.Â
Morgan Mast and Gretchen Adams did not drop a game at No. 3 doubles in an impressive rout.
Emily Mast (No. 1 singles) and Ortega (No. 3) were flawless 6-0, 6-0 in singles. Morgan Mast won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, and Shelby Bankson was sharp 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6.
Copeland won in straight sets at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-4), and Armstrong was victorious 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4.
The Lady Lancers will welcome Taylor on Thursday at 1 p.m.
