Women's Tennis

No. 25 Knights too much for Grace

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team could not keep pace with No. 25 Marian on Tuesday in a 7-0 defeat.

The match essentially decided the No. 2 and No. 3 finishers in the Crossroads League standings. The Lady Lancers (9-2, 7-2 CL) will host a quarterfinal match in the CL Tournament on Oct. 1.

The Knights (7-1, 7-1 CL) swept doubles' play. Carrie Copeland and Jayna Armstrong were the closest match with a 6-4 loss at No. 2 doubles.

In singles' play, Morgan Mast dropped a memorable three-set match at No. 5 singles (6-1, 3-6, 12-14). Emily Mast (4-6, 5-7) battled hard at No. 1 singles, and Copeland (5-7, 2-6) also put up a close fight at No. 2.

The Lady Lancers travel to Trine on Thursday for a 4 p.m. match.
