Lady Lancers dominate Bethel

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Grace's women's basketball team nearly topped the century mark in a 98-77 victory over Bethel on Wednesday.

The Lady Lancers led a balanced attack with five players scoring in the double-digits, highlighted by 22 points and 10 steals from Kyannah Stull. Grace continued its recent dominance over Bethel, winning its seventh straight in the series.

Grace's defense created chaos as usual, forcing 31 turnovers.

The Lady Lancers (12-5, 3-2 Crossroads League) ran the floor at a blistering pace to start the game.

Grace's defensive pressure forced the Pilots (6-11, 0-5 CL) to turn the ball over four times in the first four minutes.

However, Bethel was deadly from the 3-point line, keeping the score close throughout the quarter.

The first quarter ended with Grace holding a slim 28-26 lead.

In the second stanza, Grace's blistering pace began to take a toll on Bethel. The Lady Lancers went on a 9-3 run to open up a lead.

Stull, Maddie Ryman and Kamryn Hostetler each drilled 3-pointers, resulting in a 58-48 lead at the half.

Stull led all players with 15 points at the break. Vironnica Drake dominated the glass with seven rebounds in the first half.

With a steady dose of drives and excellent free throw shooting, the Lady Lancers expanded the lead to 18 points in the third quarter.

Kaylie Warble grabbed six boards in the third quarter alone, and Grace carried a 78-60 lead into the final quarter.

Hostetler scored the final points for Grace with a 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter. The Lady Lancers cruised to the final score of 98-77.

Drake stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Hostetler added 16 points on 4-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc. Micaela Box chipped in 10 points, going 6-of-8 from the free throw line.
