INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team could not produce the upset of No. 24 Marian on Thursday, losing 4-1 in the semifinals of the Crossroads League Tournament.
Grace nearly claimed the doubles' point to start the match. Dayana Ortega and Jayna Armstrong were victorious at No. 1 doubles 6-2.
But the Knights (9-1) won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take an early advantage.
Marian quickly picked up the three points it needed during singles' play to win the semifinal matchup. Lauryn Riegsecker was the only singles' winner for Grace, picking up a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles.
The Lady Lancers will travel to IU Kokomo on Monday before tackling the ITA Tournament from Oct. 1-3.
