INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Grace's volleyball team could not keep pace with No. 7 Marian on Saturday, falling 3-0.
Grace was hours removed from a road win at Huntington on Friday night, but the Lady Lancers' offense sputtered in Indianapolis against the Knights. Marian has yet to lose this season, improving to 27-0 (15-0 Crossroads League).
The Knights have not lost a set for 13 consecutive matches. Marian's last dropped set was on Sept. 17 against Grace.
The Lady Lancers (11-16, 4-11 CL) were held to 29 kills on a .113 percentage compared to 49 kills for MU at a .333 clip.
The match started evenly with 11 ties over the first half of the opening set. Marian used a 3-0 spurt to gain a sliver of separation, and Grace was unable to respond in a 25-21 defeat.
In the second set, Grace's offense was muted with five kills and six attack errors. MU took a 2-0 lead in the match by winning 25-15.
The Knights completed the sweep in set three, winning by seven.
Anna Frey just missed a double-double with 9 kills, 11 digs and 2 aces. Alisha Leffring had seven kills on a .500 percentage, and Jenna Mueller had seven kills on a .455 percentage.
Morgan Syoen finished with 17 assists and eight digs, and Gina Novotny added 10 digs and two aces.
The Lady Lancers have just one match next week, traveling to Bethel on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match.
