ROSSFORD, Ohio - Grace's women's soccer team kicked off the spring portion of its schedule with a 7-1 rout of Lourdes on Friday.
The NAIA No. 14-ranked Lady Lancers (11-4-1) played inside a dome on Friday, the team's first match since the NCCAA national championship match on Nov. 21.
Grace will play several matches this spring in order to prepare for a hopeful at-large invitation to the NAIA National Championships.
Sacia Hanson was dangerous, producing two goals and two assists. JJ Aalbue and Madison Tuma also had a goal and an assist apiece.
The first goal of the match was scored 18 minutes after kickoff. Hanson found Tuma, who scored from outside the penalty box for a 1-0 lead.
Hanson, who was heavily involved in the game's scoring, doubled Grace's lead with a goal seven minutes later. Victoria Lucido earned the assist.
Tuma nearly scored again late in the half, but her shot was saved. The rebound fell to Erin Crew, who scored with six minutes to go in the half.
Grace went into halftime with a commanding 3-0 lead. The Lady Lancers took 13 of the 16 shot attempts in the period.
Two minutes into the second half, Grace scored again. Hanson crossed the ball into the box, and Alexis Larimore scored.
Hanson then added her second goal 10 minutes later thanks to an assist by Aalbue.
Lourdes managed to get on the scoreboard after that, but Grace ended the scoring with two more unassisted goals.
Grace's sixth goal came from Aalbue, and the seventh and final tally was a strike by Taylor Binkerd.
For the game, Grace finished with a 20-8 advantage in shot attempts. The team also had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
Hanson tried five shots with four shots on goal, Aalbue had four shots, and Tuma tried three shots.
The Lady Lancers' next scheduled match is Feb. 20 against Madonna. The game is scheduled to be played in Westfield, Ind.
