SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team battled its way to a 4-3 win over Holy Cross on Wednesday.
The Lady Lancers improved to 13-4 on the season under head coach Marcus Moore.
Grace picked up the doubles' point, which proved to be critical in the swing of the match. All three doubles' courts were hotly contested.
Dayana Ortega and Jayna Armstrong (No. 1) as well as Ellie Hughes and Anna Graves (No. 2) both pulled out 7-6 wins. Gretchen Adams and Kiersten Martin teamed up for a 7-5 win at No. 3.
Ortega continued her strong play, recovering to a three-set win at No. 1 singles (2-6, 6-1, 10-4).
Martin (6-2, 6-1) at No. 6 singles as well as Lauryn Riegsecker (6-1, 6-4) cruised to straight set wins.
