WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team made history by hosting Eastern Michigan at Miller Athletic Complex on Friday.
The Lady Lancers fell 6-1 to the Eagles. It marks the first time Grace has hosted an NCAA Div. I opponent in any sport in recent memory.
Grace dropped the doubles' point although the team did win one court. Ellie Hughes and Morgan Mast won 6-4 at No. 3 doubles, but the Eagles won at No. 1 and 2 doubles.
The Lady Lancers (13-6) did manage to win a point in singles' play. Kiersten Martin secured a two-set win, winning 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
Lauryn Riegsecker had the closest defeat for Grace, falling 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
Grace will head to Elmhurst (Ill.) on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match.
