INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The No. 6-ranked Marian Knights proved too much for Grace's softball team on Tuesday.
Grace lost 10-2 and 14-0 in Indianapolis, falling to the league-leading Knights (26-8, 15-2 Crossroads League).
Marian's offense was steady in the opener. The Knights scored either one or two run in every inning in the 10-2 victory.
Grace did have six hits — all singles. The Lady Lancers did score twice in the top of the fifth. Jeri Ellis and Jaden Cardoso drove in runs on back-to-back at-bats, plating Olivia Hess and Bethany Gardner.
Laikyn Lowe hit 2 for 3 in the game, and Ellis was 2 for 3 with an RBI.
The second game was much different. The Knights erupted for 13 runs in the bottom of the first and finished the game with a run-rule victory.
Cardoso had the only hit of the five-inning game for Grace.
The Lady Lancers return home on Saturday, hosting Bethel for a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Coach Phil Dick Field.
