WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Lancers cruised through three doubles matches and won five singles matches to top Goshen 6-1 and improve to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Crossroads League.
Fabricio Galvan and
Ramiro Candia quickly won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, followed by another 6-1 win by
Milan Savic and
Kye Barrett at No. 3 doubles.
David Sandi and
Ivan Antinori then closed out No. 1 doubles 6-3.
Sandi kept rolling at No. 1 singles, winning 6-1, 6-1. Galvan claimed a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 2, while Candia took three sets to claim the No. 3 singles match 6-0, 3-6, 10-4.
Nicolas Doria won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 and
Francisco Margaria finished the No. 6 match 6-1, 6-1. The only loss on the day came in a close match at No. 5 where Antinori fell 6-2, 2-6, 8-10.
The second match of the day against Huntington was called because of darkness and will be completed on Monday at 3:00 p.m. Grace took a 2-1 lead after doubles, but none of the singles matches were completed.
