INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - A short-handed Grace women's tennis squad was unable to keep pace with No. 25 Marian on Saturday.
The Knights (7-1, 7-1 Crossroads League) won 6-1 in the Crossroads League regular season finale.
Grace had already secured the No. 4 seed in next week's CL Tournament before playing on Saturday. As a result, the Lady Lancers (6-3, 5-3 CL) will host fifth-seeded Huntington on Tuesday at Miller Athletic Complex for the quarterfinals. The winner will advance to the semifinals for a likely meeting with top seed Indiana Wesleyan.
Grace could not find a winner in doubles' competition on Saturday. Kiersten Martin and Jenna Lewis were the closest with a 6-3 defeat at No. 2 doubles.
Anna Graves was the lone victor for the Lady Lancers in singles' play. Graves registered an impressive win at No. 1 singles with a scoreline of 6-4, 7-6 (10-1).
