Grace registers third straight win

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's basketball team breezed past Miami-Hamilton on Monday by the score of 75-46.

The Lady Lancers (13-7) picked up their third straight victory thanks to balanced offensive production. Eleven of the 12 players that saw the court for Grace scored a point, led by 16 points from Kenzie McMahon.

Grace started the game by scoring at a high rate. The Lady Lancers pierced Miami's zone defense with four 3-pointers in the opening quarter, including a pair of triples by Kensie Ryman in her first collegiate start.

The Lady Lancers ended the first quarter by scoring 15 unanswered points, claiming a comfortable 31-9 lead by the end of the period.

Grace began to implement its bench to start the second quarter, and the Lady Lancers coasted into halftime with a 45-19 lead.

Grace shot 54 percent from the floor before halftime while holding the Harriers to 27 percent. Grace also held a dominant 27-9 advantage in rebounds. The Lady Lancers assisted on 14 on their 19 made field goals.

Ryman and Kiersten Poor each scored nine points, and McMahon had eight points.

McMahon had a big part in Grace's third quarter, making all four of her shots for an eight-point quarter. Grace poured in 22 points in the frame to go ahead by 36.

The Lady Lancers continued to utilize their bench liberally as the game progressed; 10 players for Grace saw at least 13 minutes of playing time.

Grace cruised until the final buzzer to win 75-46.

McMahon was perfect from the floor, shooting 8 of 8 for 16 points. Ryman registered 11 points, 5 assists and just 1 turnover, and Poor amassed 10 points, 6 boards, 3 steals and 2 assists.

Karlee Feldman just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds in 14 minutes of action, and Kaylee Patton tallied 8 points, 4 assists and 4 boards.

Peyton Murphy notched 7 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists, Carissa Wiegman had four points and seven boards, and Karissa Lukasiewicz had four points and six boards.

Kiara Gill finished with 2 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal, and Olivia Pearson had two points and two assists.

Grace finished the game by shooting 48 percent from the floor and 25 percent on 3-pointers. Miami shot 33 percent from the floor and 16 percent on 3s. The Lady Lancers had a 51-22 advantage in rebounding, grabbing 18 offensive boards.

The Lady Lancers have two more home games this week, hosting Spring Arbor on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Mt. Vernon Nazarene on Saturday at 1 p.m.
