Women's Basketball brings in three newcomers

Grace College's women's basketball team is hoping to build on its recent success. The Lady Lancers have brought in a trio of talented newcomers to the roster.

Grace is coming off a 20-win season under head coach Dan Davis; the squad has advanced to six straight NCCAA National Championships.

All three of these ladies are competitive players who want to win. They are hard-working, unselfish players, and we are excited for their future with our program. They are each great fits for our team and our culture.

Reason for choosing Grace: “I chose Grace because of the family atmosphere that I felt when I was on campus. Meeting the girls and the coaching staff made me feel at home. I knew I would be getting a strong education while being surrounded by a community of people with my best interests in mind.”

Reason for choosing Grace: “I chose Grace because it reminded me of my home. It has a small-town feel that is very welcoming and inviting. The girls on the team and the coaching staff made me feel comfortable and like family. I always knew I wanted to play basketball in college, and this school and community made my decision an easy one. The godly environment also drew me in, and I'm looking forward to growing in my faith at this school.”

An accomplished post player from Grand Haven High School (Mich.)
Was the second-leading scorer, second-leading shot blocker and leading rebounder as a senior
Averaged 8.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in 2020-21
Also played volleyball on Grand Haven's varsity squad for three years
Coach Dan's comments: “Molly is an inside-out player. She is a stretch-four player who is going to show a lot of versatility and play a lot of positions for us. She is very skilled and is a coach's kid, so she's tough and ready to work.”

Reason for choosing Grace: I chose Grace College because I wanted to be part of a loving and winning culture. Coach Dan makes sure that you know you are valued as a person both on and off the court. I'm exciting to challenge for conference championships and help our team reach the NAIA tournament.

Transfer from Kentucky Christian University
Earned 1st Team All-Appalachian Athletic Conference while at KCU
Averaged a team-high 15.2 points per game at KCU, adding 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game
Shot 49 percent from the floor in 2021-22, 42 percent on 3-pointers and 84 percent on free throws
Helped KCU to a 19-14 record last season
Was named the NCCAA National Player of the Week on Jan. 17 after pouring in 25 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists per game in a trio of wins
Coach Dan's comments: “She has a chance to come in and make an immediate impact in our program. Her playmaking and scoring ability really stands out, and she can absolutely shoot it. Her competitiveness and humbleness is really impressive. She really wants to win."
