FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Despite taking the early lead, Grace's women's tennis team was unable to upset the highly ranked No. 19 Indiana Tech.
The Warriors won the match 6-1 on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Lancers pounced ahead early by claiming the doubles' point.
Jimena Ramirez and Alejandra Sandoval earned a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, and Kiersten Martin and Lydia Ruegsegger battled to a dramatic 7-6 (5) win at No. 2.
But the Warriors had the final say during singles' competition. Indiana Tech won all six singles' courts to take the match.
Sandoval was the closest; she won the opening set 6-4 before dropping a narrow 7-6 (5), 10-4 match.
The Lady Lancers will travel to Bethel on Wednesday for their next match.
