WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team got back to its winning ways with a 7-0 rout of Saint Francis on Saturday afternoon.
The Lancers (3-1) rebounded after suffering a tough defeat midweek by taking total control of the match against the Cougars.
Anna Graves and
Lydia Ruegsegger kicked off the match with a strong 6-0 start.
Amy Adams made her collegiate debut, pairing up with
Kiersten Martin in the No. 3 doubles spot. The duo won their matchup 6-2 to clinch the first point of the day.
Jimena Ramirez and
Alejandra Sandoval rounded out the doubles section with a 6-1 showing.
In singles action, Grace continued to pull away, dropping only four games across the six duels.
Graves led things off in impressive fashion, refusing to give up a game to win 6-0, 6-0 to increase the lead. She was followed up by Ramirez with a straight set victory, putting the team one point away from clinching the match.
Ruegsegger provided the decisive point with a 6-1, 6-0 victory of her own.
The final three matchups finished in order with all three making quick work to complete the rout.
Sandoval and Martin each won 6-0, 6-0, and
Lydia Miller, who also made her debut, added a straight set triumph, 6-1, 6-1.
The next match for the Lancers will be on the road against Mount Vernon on Sept. 13. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Ohio.
