NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis improved to 4-1 on the season with an emphatic 7-0 win at NCAA Division III Manchester on Monday afternoon.
The Lancers jumped all over the Spartans to put the match away quickly. Across the three doubles matches, the visitors dropped only two games to sweep doubles action.
Kiersten Martin and
Lydia Ruegsegger led off with an 8-1 victory to set the tone. They were followed by
Molli Runestad and
Amy Adams, who also came out on top 8-1 at No. 3 doubles. Finally,
Jimena Ramirez and
Alejandra Sandoval finished off the duos with an 8-0 sweep.
As the match transitioned to singles, Grace extended the lead and cleaned up the remaining points. All six pairings were won in straight sets, with four of the six showing 6-0, 6-0 score lines at the end.
Ramirez (No. 1), Sandoval (No. 3), Runestad (No. 4) and Martin (No. 5) each won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Ruegsegger (No. 2) and
