Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer tripped up at No. 7 Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Grace's women's soccer team came up empty in a match at No. 7 Aquinas on Saturday.

The Lancers fell by the score of 3-0 in Grace's final nonconference game of the regular season.

Grace was stunned early after giving up a goal in the first minute. The Saints attacked directly, taking advantage of a fortunate bounce to convert a 1-on-1 opportunity in the penalty box.

Matters got worse as the Saints scored again three minutes later. Grace faced a 2-0 deficit for the majority of regulation after that.

Grace's lone shot attempt of the first half came in the final 10 minutes. Cassidy Felger's shot went high of the goal.

The Lancers went into halftime trailing 2-0.

The scoreline remained the same until the final three minutes. Jasmin Slump had Grace's only credited shot after halftime off a deep free kick.

The Saints managed to squeeze in a third goal with 3:20 remaining. Aquinas benefitted again from an unclaimed loose ball in the penalty box to tap home the game's final goal.

Sofia Williams saved 11 shots in goal for Grace.

The Lancers will now shift their attention to Crossroads League play. Grace will end the regular season with nine league matches.

Grace's first league matchup is at home next week on Saturday against Mt. Vernon Nazarene at 7 p.m.
