Lancers handle Eagles with ease

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team completed the fall season with a 7-0 victory over Judson on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lancers picked up three points by default as the Eagles had a limited roster for the contest. Grace shook up its lineup as well with Jimena Ramirez and Alejandra Sandoval being away at the ITA Cup in Georgia.

Already with a 3-0 lead, Grace won all four singles matches in straight sets with No. 2-4 singles not losing a single game. Lydia Ruegsegger, Sofia Beltran and Amy Adams each went 6-0, 6-0 which secured the victory. Geraldine Salinas completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court one.

The Lancers will take a break for the fall and resume play in the spring. Ramirez will compete in the singles draw and she will partner with Sandoval in the doubles draw at the ITA Cup in Georgia from Oct. 10-12.
