MARION, Ind. - Grace College's women's basketball team couldn't match No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan's offensive firepower, dropping Saturday's Crossroads League showdown 87-58.

The Lancers (5-2, 0-2 CL) were undone by a disjointed offensive effort that saw them commit 28 turnovers and connect on just one 3-point field goal.

Morganne Houk led the way for Grace with a 24 point and eight rebound performance. She was the lone Lancer to score in double figures.

The Lancers took a 2-0 lead on their first possession of the game but a plethora of Grace turnovers allowed the Wildcats (9-0, 2-0 CL) to build a comfortable first quarter lead. Grace committed nine turnovers in the opening frame which ended with Indiana Wesleyan leading 23-8.

In the second quarter the Wildcats continued to extend their lead, pushing the advantage to as many as 24 points.

Grace found more success in the second frame, connecting on 46 percent of their attempts and grabbing six steals.

Houk had a quarter high eight points in the second quarter as the Lancers entered the halftime intermission down 41-24.

Grace and Indiana Wesleyan traded scores to start the second half but the Lancers saw the gap continue to increase as they were unable to match the Wildcats red-hot shooting.

In the fourth quarter the Lancers trailed by as many as 37 points before ultimately losing 87-58.

Grace finished the game shooting 39 percent from the floor. The Lancers committed 28 turnovers and connected on one 3-point field goal.

Grace will return to action on December 4 for a showdown against Spring Arbor.
