**EDITOR'S NOTE (4/5/2024): The score was initially 3-4 in Roosevelt's favor. But the result was overturned officially by the ITA NAIA Women's National Ranking Committee. Roosevelt was judged to have made illegal lineup stacking for Tuesday's match. Individual results will remain, but the team score was changed to 4-3 with Grace as the victor.
WARSAW, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team returned home for its matchup against Roosevelt at the Warsaw Racquet Club on Tuesday afternoon, winning narrowly 4-3.
The match came down to the final pairings with the final point coming from No. 5 singles.Â
The Lakers took the early advantage by earning the doubles point.
Geraldine Salinas and
Lydia Ruegsegger partnered to win their matchup at No. 2 doubles, but that was not enough to get the team point.
As the contest transitioned to singles, the teams battled back and forth for points. Ruegsegger picked up the first singles point with a quick 6-1, 6-0 victory to even the score.Â
After Roosevelt inched ahead, Grace was right there to tie it up.
