WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's track and field head coach Michael Moffitt has decided to step down to pursue other professional coaching opportunities.
Moffitt has served as Grace's coach for the past three seasons, helping the Lancers achieve three NCCAA outdoor track championships during that span.
"The past three years at Grace have been vital to my development as a coach and person. I cannot thank the Grace College community enough for the opportunity to coach an amazing group of young men and women. Dr. Flamm, Coach Briscoe and the entire athletic department have provided amazing support and opportunities for our program to have success," Moffitt said. "This has been an extremely difficult decision as our team not only broke records but built a family. Although my time at Grace is coming to an end, I will continue to cheer for Lancer Nation and pray for their continued success."
A national search for Grace's next track and field coach is underway. The coach will join Grace cross country head coach Brian Dewey to lead the Lancers' program.
The Lancers are consistent contenders at the conference and national levels for cross country and track. Grace has racked up 31 NAIA All-American honors in just the past four seasons for track and field. The men's and women's cross country squads have each placed in the top 25 of the NAIA every year since 2021.
Recently, Grace was ranked No. 9 for the 2024 Program of the Year by the USTFCCCA for the women and No. 19 for the men.
"We are very thankful for Michael for his leadership and guidance of our track and field program for the past three years. He has continued to build the upward trajectory of our program, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors," said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe.
