Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Grace’s season ends in NCCAA championship match

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The 2025 season came to a close for Grace's men's soccer team on Saturday night.

The Lancers fell 2-0 in the NCCAA national championship match to Campbellsville, coming up empty on the offensive end.

The championship match saw heavy, consistent rain add a dramatic element to the marquee match.

The two teams possessed the ball evenly to begin the match. Campbellsville earned the first two shots of the game, including a driven ball that forced a diving save by Grace's goalkeeper Ben Kenn.

Campbellsville struck first 20 minutes into the game. After a free kick at midfield, the Tigers quickly attacked through the middle, lofting a pass into the heart of the box that was headed into the net.

Grace tried to respond three minutes later, but a shot from Luis Munoz was blocked.

The Lancers' attack was largely muted for the rest of the half.

Grace had a final goal-scoring moment in the last minute of the half. But Diego Yanes's header was saved, and Munoz's shot on the rebound drifted left of the goal.

The Lancers went into halftime behind 1-0. The Tigers outshot Grace 7-4 in the opening half.

Grace moved the ball consistently into Campbellsville's box to start the second half.

With 32 minutes remaining, Juan Garcia's shot missed high. With 23 minutes left, Grace had a trio of shots, including an attempt from Sebastian Lozano that was blocked.

A few minutes later, Garcia found space on the right side of the field, trying a high shot that glanced off the crossbar.

The Tigers nearly scored a second goal two minutes later, but Kenn made a sharp one-handed save to parry the ball out of bounds.

Munoz hit a laser with eight minutes on the clock which forced an acrobatic save, and Lozano's ricochet on the rebound drifted left of the goal.

Grace had several more threatening shots over the final few minutes, including a low blast from Munoz that was saved.

With three minutes remaining, Grace had a corner kick. The Tigers won the aerial ball and raced to the other side of the field. Campbellsville iced the win with a goal a few seconds later.

The Lancers finished the match outshooting Campbellsville, 17-15. Grace had a 13-8 advantage after halftime. Only six of Grace's 17 shots were on target, however. Grace also had a 3-1 edge in corners.

The Lancers end the year as NCCAA national finalists and Crossroads League Tournament finalists. Grace earned a host bid to the NAIA National Championships and also posted 12 clean sheets for the season.
